Possible options:
Short term travel experiences domestic or international will provide you an opportunity to shake up your senses and challenge your comfort zone.
By dislocating, you will see design elements all around you like textures, colors, lines, value, shape, and size. You may hear sounds that will inspire you or notice typography or the vernacular of a particular place that will inspire you.
> I'm curious about design and creativity. I'm motivated to learn.
> I believe in experiences over stuff. I'm really interested in expanding my skill set in drawing, photography, video, and design by immersing in a different place.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
What if you took 1/4 of what a 4 year college would cost and invested it in a year of intensive design and at least one travel experience? A study abroad style trip will immerse you into a new culture, a new experience, and inspire your creative senses in ways you can't even imagine.
A two to three week trip will average 3k-5k and you still have 3/4 of your budget to invest in Val's coursework or a visit to the retreat center.
